opal ring to pendant

This lovely client had a very special opal ring, inherited from her grandmother. She had kept the ring safe and admired it often, but knew she wouldn’t wear it as the large ring that it was.

She asked me if I could adapt it into a pendant, which she would happily wear, but keep as much of it the same as possible as it reminded her so much of her grandmother.

I removed the main shank of the ring and added a while gold bail and chain. The opal pendant is now worn frequently and carries huge sentimentality for its wearer.
